Pierre the rockhopper penguin

13th April 2021 (Updated 20th January 2022)
Pierre the rockhopper penguin was rescued in July 2020 at the shore in Australia and sent to Perth Zoo for rehabilitation. Since he could not be released due to a condition called arrested moulting and Perth Zoo does not house rockhopper penguins, he was sent to us in December 2020 to join our penguin colony since we have the expertise to care for him. Pierre arrived in poor condition but has made a full recovery since.

Completely Transformed

Under the dedicated care of our keepers, Pierre's feather condition has improved tremendously.
This is Pierre when he first arrived at Jurong Bird Park from Perth Zoo .
Under the TLC of our Penguin Care Team, Pierre has become the most handsome penguin ever. Such transformation!
