It took about 30 mins in a grab at 9am to reach the zoo from Swissotel the Stamford.
This zoo is such a beautiful place to visit.
We have been here many times but never done the 1 hour Wild Discoverer Tour. There is one at 10:30am - there is another tour at 3:30pm if you were heading to the zoo later in the day. I booked this ahead of time as you get a 10% discount on tours when you book the lot together - S$38 per adult and $25 per child on top of the entry fee before discount and it was worth every cent.
You get driven around by a guide in a golf buggy, who tells you facts about animals and you get priority feeding to the giraffes, cuddle a giant tortoise and he even snuck in a orangutan photo for us.
At the end he dropped us to where we wanted in the zoo and we could do as we please.
Tips & Info:
Take your own water bottle as they have refill stations all around the park.
There is toilets for the kids and sinks down low to wash hands easily.
Nursery areas with hot and cold water dispensers for making bubs food.
Take swimwear for the kids as they have a waterpark to cool off.
You are allowed to take packed lunches into the park.
Have your camera ready as some animals are free range and will pop up anywhere - like a couple of cheeky monkeys we spotted.
Pay the extra $5 for a tram to save the legs.

We booked the Wild Discoverer Tour before coming to Singapore Zoo from Australia. Our guide (Justin) was most knowledgable; he has worked there 18 months. He knew so much for such a relatively short time. It was great being able to feed giraffes, interact with the tortoises in their enclosure and have a photo taken with orangutans. We were able to touch the tortoises after Justin gave instructions on how to handle them appropriately. Justin also fetched us in the buggy to save us walking back after being guided through some exhibits. Much appreciated in the warm weather. The tour was more than we expected and went for almost 90 mins. At the conclusion, Justin showed us on the zoo map where we had been and recommended other exhibits to visit. Thanks to Justin and the zoo for a great tour in conjunction with our regular zoo admission!

We did the wild discovery tour that came with two guide that was knowledgeable about the animals and the history of the zoo. My daughter loves being on the buggy and actually got to feed the hippos and the baboons. Parents learned a few things too. Zoo landscape was beautiful and animals look well taken care of. They have quite a few rare species like the nubian ibex. Would not mind returning to the zoo again the next time we are in Singapore.

My husband and I visited this zoo and did 2 experiences: the discovery tour and the reptopia behind the scenes experience.
What a fantastic experience from the second we arrive at membership services to the second we left!
Our tour guide was fantastic. What a lovely lady. She really looked after us and helped us when we feeding rhinos and interacting with giant tortoise. We also love the reptopia experience too. The young lady keeper and Jose were just brilliant and even managed to get me to feed a cricket to a frog and chameleon.....and I'm petrified of crickets and crawlies! We held snakes and bearded dragons too. We watched a egg eating snake eat and egg and a Texas rat snake eat a dead mouse too. Keep up your excellent work educating us folk about these fantastic reptiles.
The rest of the zoo was just as great. The food court was excellent value with 2 cokes and 2 curry meals coming to $21 dollars which for a zoo in my experience is brill.
I only wished I lived nearby and would buy an annual pass. If you do please do one or all the experiences you. An buy they are worth every penny.

My 10 year old and I did the Reptopia tour. Very educational, and my son, who loves animal, was thrilled to hug and hold the python and bearded dragon, and many other reptiles. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Now, my son asked if the zoo can consider similar tours for mammals, amphibians, etc. .Well done Singapore Zoo, one of the best in the world.

An excellent variety of animals, I’d highly recommend this zoo. The jungle breakfast was amazing - absolutely worthwhile! Everyone gets multiple turns at having photos done with the orangutans and you can use you’re own camera no problem. Excellent breakfast, too. I booked the Discovery Tour - this was simply outstanding!! My guide was very knowledgable and answered all my questions. She got us up close to giraffes and giant tortoises, which was simply amazing - the chance to get up close and touch and feed these animals was the best thing I’ve ever done - and totally worth the tour fee!! Please book this tour!! A fantastic day at Singapore zoo, I’d recommend to all! :)
